Recently, our best friends have moved away and I have reached out to those I know might be having Thanksgiving alone or not at all and invited them to my house for dinner. We have 12 people coming over all bringing a favorite Thanksgiving dish.

I just did a blog post (www.newworldgreetings.blogspot.com) reflecting on what I am serving up for Thanksgiving this year. I am releasing memories of holidays past and creating a holiday overflowing with love, forgiveness, joy and most importantly gratitude. Rather than feeling frazzled with preparations, I made a plan to take care of the preparations over a two week period. The slower I go, the more efficient I am and the more peace and joy I can experience. I am also finding ways to serve those in need and reduce stress - for example, I ordered our pie from Community Servings in Boston. For $25, we receive a delicious apple pie - no fuss, no muss, no bother and with that money, a meal will be delivered to a critically ill person on Thanksgiving day. I also asked for help from family members with all of the preparations and it takes stress off of me while bringing them joy as they give and contribute rather than feeling guilty they did not do anything to help. I can honestly say that this is the first holiday season that I am truly loooking forward to. Thanks be to God and thanks be to the beautiful people like you Mike in the world who help us to focus on blessings and authenticity.

I have always taken to heart the part about "thanks giving", so this is the day I take a lot of time to Thank God, SPIRIT, whatever name you call IT, for everything in my life. I also like to make a point of releasing any less than loving thoughts about myself or others. I like to do something that gives to others, also...help at a local restaurant that feeds those who don't have homes or families, donate food to the food bank, etc...I think this day is really meant to be about THANKS GIVING, not food (easy for me to say because I am a vegetarian), football, family dramas etc...
With Thanks to all of you I wish you a Terrific Thaksgiving!
