Ah! Mirror exercises. I love them. I have been doing them for quite sometime now. In the beginning, it was sporadically. Now, I look forward to seeing, greeting, thanking, inspiring, complimenting and plain just appreciating myself in the mirror each night. This exercise makes me feel good, and comes quite naturally now. The child in me knows that every loving thing I say, is absolutely true and I can feel an inner energy shift in the direction of a "thank you." This inner smile is a great feeling to go to bed with. The egoic mind does try to interfere, interrupt, distract and deny the loving words being expressed, but it has zero power in the face of truth. Witnessing myself in the mirror is self-affirming, and validating, and overrides any egoic response that may arise-and the responses do arise. It's humorous to actually feel the egoic responses fade into nothing as the words pour forth in truth. Come to think of it, this is a great way to build new networks in the brain. Due to the mirror, the positive feedback is immediate. All I have left to say is I am grateful to have found this practice and I encourage all to use it. It's fun! Namaste'. DawnaLove

I love what you did with your older daughter.
I use a check in tool. We always check in with family and friends to see how they're doing - so why not ourselves? I have been checking in with myself 4 times a day. I set an alarm on my cell phone that says how are you? If I feel positive I pat myself on the back, give myself some ackowledgement for what I am doing/feeling/being. If negative I'll say even though I feel ___(fill in the blank) I completely love and accept myself.

Dear Mike, As you know, with my Austrian Upbringing (catholic)I had to overcome a lot of guilt about a lot of things. It was not till a friend in California tought me to get over it. I used to feel selfish to take a picture of myself. What a recovery and now I enjoy a new World.
Thanks for the insight!
