I find myself comparing myself with others a lot. I don't earn a lot of money but I love what I do, but I often look at those around me that are my age or that I even feel that I am more talented than and see the amount of money they are making and the things they are doing, the energy they have compared to me...and I get envious and feel down on myself. I'm learning not to compare, to be grateful that I love what I do (work with children) and to be happy for the other person that their life is working out the way they had hoped. My life is working out in a way that has meaning to me, I found that I am not one who needs a lot of things. I do like to shop, I do like to buy nice things, I would like to own a bigger home or a nicer car...but I believe those things will come if they are meant to as long as I do what I love, rather than be trapped in a cubicle as I once was and hated. Those material things aren't the important things, not like I used to believe they were. The important thing is I have a loving husband and family and I do what I love. :)

This is a major issue for me which comes through especially in my golf game. Someone else always seems to be better, hot the ball further and sometimes it discourages me. As I grow and learn however I know that no-one truly 'has it all'. There is a law of compensation. No-one has everything and no-one has nothing. I did think Tiger Woods was the exception to this prior to the car accident and revelations but how wrong was that. Anyway, appreciate what you have and enjoy what you do. :-)

So very true! Our internal thought-processes are reflected in near-imperceptible "leakage cues" that give others subconscious directions for how we expect to be treated. Changing your thought-process instructs others to treat us better. Voila! Positive outlook=positive outcome. I've also heard "act the way you want to feel."
