Below is
a list of some of the best personal and professional development
seminars I have ever taken. I encourage you to check these courses out
and consider taking them yourself. Each one is life altering and I
HIGHLY recommend them all!

The
Landmark Forum (http://www.landmarkeducation.com)
This 3-day course is incredible. It was one of the
most amazing experiences of my life. The Landmark Forum is about
creating breakthroughs in your life – free from the
constraints of the past. It is about inventing new possibilities for
your life and your future. By taking this course, many of the
relationships in my life improved greatly, I got a much clearer picture
about my future, and I met some amazing people. I have taken dozens of
courses from Landmark Education over the past 7 years and I love their
work.
The Arete Experience
(http://www.aretecenter.com)
This course totally rocked my world! The Arete Experience is a weekend
retreat that takes a small group of people (about 15) to a very deep
level of awareness and openness. It is a very emotional and
experiential workshop. I had fun, I laughed, I cried, I danced, I
yelled, and I got more in touch with my heart than I ever had before. I
also felt a powerful sense of community that was incredible.
The New Warrior Training Adventure
(http://www.mkp.org)
This weekend retreat was one of the most powerful and life-altering
experiences of my life. The course is for men only, and is a
magical, ritualistic male initiation. Through a series of
heart opening and powerful processes, the weekend allows men to fully
experience their masculine power in a beautiful and sacred
way. I tell many of my male friends and male clients, that
this course is "mandatory" for all conscious men. I loved it!
The Next Step (http://www.challengeday.org)
Rich and Yvonne Dutra-St. John, the co-founders of Challenge Day,
deliver this amazing course. It is a weekend workshop that builds upon
the philosophy and the principles that Challenge Day teaches to young
people all over the country through their school-based programs for
teens. The Next Step is for both young people and adults. Someone
described it as a “massage for your soul.” I think
that sums it up pretty well. I have now taken this course two times and
will probably take it many more times in the future. It is an amazing,
heart-opening experience and is such a fun course to take. There is a
sense of ease and depth with this workshop…it is magical.
The Shadow Process
(http://www.debbieford.com)
Debbie Ford, the best-selling author of
“The Dark Side of the Light Chasers,” leads this
incredible weekend workshop. Her work is amazing and this course is
like nothing else I have ever experienced. I discovered things about
myself and felt feelings I had never felt before out of doing the
Shadow Process. It is something that I could see myself doing over and
over again…there is so much richness in this course and in
Debbie’s shadow work.
Celebrating Men, Satisfying Women
(http://www.celebratingmen.com)
This course is for women only, so I have not actually participated in
it myself (obviously). My wife Michelle has taken this course
and has recommended it to many of her female friends and
clients. The work of Alison Armstrong, the creator of this
course and body of work, is powerful stuff. Through this
course, she teaches women about the developmental stages of
men. This information allows women to more fully understand
and appreciate men. Michelle truly lives these principles in
her life and in our marriage...and I am grateful. She
understands and appreciates me. Through this course and this
work, she truly celebrates me as a man and has been able to teach me
how to satisfy her as woman!
Mission Control (http://www.missioncontrol.com)
This course is a 2-day workshop designed for busy
people. In a generic sense, you could think of it as a
“time-management” course. However, it is much more
than that. Mission Control teaches revolutionary principles about how
to relate to your life, your schedule, and your list of things
“to do.” It is about creating a real sense of
freedom and peace of mind in life. I got so much out of taking this
workshop and I have been using the tools that I learned ever since. It
is powerful and very useful.
Co-Active Coaching Courses
(http://www.thecoaches.com)
The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) offers a
series of 5 weekend courses in their initial training process. These
Co-Active Coaching Courses are great. Fundamentals, Fulfillment,
Balance, Process, and In the Bones are the names of the 5 courses. The
material is superb, the trainers are amazing, and the process of each
workshop not only teaches valuable skills for coaching…there
are also many deep life lessons learned. I loved the CTI training and
these courses. These workshops not only made me a much better coach, I
also got a lot of personal value out of each of them as well.
Voice Your Vision
(http://www.speakingcircles.com)
This is a great weekend workshop put on by Lee
Glickstein of Speaking Circles International. In this workshop, Lee and
his training partner Doreen Hamilton take a small group of people
(about 10) through a powerful process of creating a
“transformational talk” using the Speaking Circles
model. I took this workshop when I was first starting my speaking
business and it was very helpful – personally and
professionally.
